Club Meeting - September 2, 2010
Posted by Dave Dyck
Our club approved to raise funds for shelter boxes to assist in the flood relief efforts in Pakistan. Jean will be co-ordinating a community campaign and our club will match the first $1,000 raised. These funds may also be eligible for matching contributions from the Canadian Government. To access the matching funds you can make your cheque payable to the Vermilion Rotary Club and drop it off with one of the following Rotarians:
Bruce MacDuff (780)853-1885
Eileen Cholowski(780)853-2871
John Lunty (780)853-8399
Jean Vidal (780)853-4171
Tax deductible receipts will be issued for contributions of $10 or more.
Watch your contribution multiply! For example, a donation of $100 is matched by the Vermilion Rotary Club and $200 is sent to Shelter Box Canada. If your donation is made before September 12, 2010, the Canadian Government doubles it again to bring the total to $400.

Please take note of upcoming events posted in the weekly bulletin. We will be updating each of these as details are finalized.
We were pleased to have Roosje, our exchange student from Belgium, join us for the meeting. Roosje provided us with an update on how her first week in Vermilion had gone. Roosje is attending St. Jerome's School and is enjoying her first few days there.
Hope you all had a great Summer! See you on Thursday morning!
