Rotary Meeting

- Birthdays /Anniversary: Carol Wasylik birthday on Sept 20th
- Special Presentation: Carol Devereaux is the Coordinator of the District Paul Harris Society. Part of the Foundation Committee. It recognizes Rotarians who contribute to the Paul Harris Society - District 5370’s has been around since 2008. Thank you Carol for travelling out here this morning to honour us!
- Business Meeting:
- Foundation Challenge: Would like to use the Paul Harris money that would normally be for President donation to the Paul Harris Society. The executive is asking club members to donate to Foundation and the club is going to match that money from our annual contribution. End date will be end of November (Foundation month). Please contact Tannis Henderson for more information.
- Eugene: Scholarship money granted was $650. Eugene made the motion to approve an extra $350 to make it an even $1000 to be divided between 4 schools for an additional $250 scholarship. Dawn seconded. All in favour. motion carried. Dawn will inform the schools of the changes!
- International Convention: $1500 is allocated to send present President, the Executive would like to encourage club members to attend. The Executive would like to use the $1500 to help cover club members who register for convention in Toronto. Early Bird deadline is December 15th. Club members who register by that date will be eligible to share the money to help offset the cost for those members. Also a note that Dean McMullen will be speaking on past conventions on Sept 28th
- Mary-Lee: Vermilion Business Speaker Series is Oct 19th Federally funded grant. Eventbrite is the registration process - will be at the Pomeroy.
- Updates? Harvest Gala - Laurel has the tickets Webb’s machinery! The evening is coming together quite nicely! Festival of Trees - weekend of November 23
- Reminder to submit volunteer hours to Tannis!!!
Next week meeting: Team 3 for breakfast and Mary Lee Prior will be doing a vocational.
