1.  Awesome breakfast, thanks Team 2.  Guest this morning was Tanis Frantik, Manager of the new Pomeroy Hotel (which will be opening on January 13th, in time for the Bonspiel!).  Happy Birthday to Gerald (16th) and D’Arcy (17th).
  2. Calendar Update:  Did you know Kirby canvased seven areas to make this project successful?  Now as Bruce so eloquently stated, it’s time for everyone to pitch in and help him deliver to all those areas.  Kirby has the boxes set up ready to go.  Please call Kirby to let him know what area you can help out with.  Thank you Kirby and your crew for all your hard work and dedication to the calendar project.
  3. Teresa’s Update:
  • Her weekend skiing with the inbounds was awesome although she was tuckered on Monday.  The foothills looked a lot like Austria.
  • She watched the boys basketball game.
  • Preparation for the holidays at home is much like what we do here.
  1.  Vermilion Outdoor Rink Project:  Mike Webb shared information on the remake of the outdoor rink located between St. Jerome’s School and Vermilion Elementary School.  The Vermilion Park and Rec Board has proposed a $200,000 project which would basically just be a skating rink with a cement floor and boards.  Mike is proposing that we approach the town with additional funding to enhance the project (make the facility usable year round by including the infrastructure for tennis and other activities).   If approved by the club, Mike is applying for a matching grant from the Community Facility Enhancement Program.

MOTION:Moved by Mike Webb that our Rotary Club commit $25,000 towards the Outdoor Rink Project, through the Town of Vermilion, contingent on the Town of Vermilion providing the extra infrastructure to make the Outdoor Rink usable year round; and that the information be provided to the Town of Vermilion by December 15, 2015.Seconded by Craig Brown.Carried.

  1.  Reminders:
  •  Dec. 17th is our last meeting in December and it’s a Christmas mix and jingle.  Friends welcome.
  • Interact Club is holding a bake sale on Saturday in the afternoon.  If you’d like to contribute, please drop your baking off at the mall.
