1. Our guest this morning, Janet Millar, was recognized for winning the Fair $2015 raffle.
 
2. There were no anniversaries or birthdays listed for this week.
 
3. Shawn gave us an update on the Harvest Gala.  Plans are well underway and tickets will be available at the Remax Office.  There will be a $2000 travel voucher door prize.  More information to follow.
 
4. Colton left for his adventure and arrived safely.  He will attend an orientation camp before joining his host family.  Theresa arrives next week for her Canadian visit.  Let’s make her stay memorable.  Remember that you require a criminal record check to be part of her stay.  Criminal record checks need to be mailed to Rene Cavanagh, District Office.
 
5. District 5370 has initiated a new “District Learning and Development Committee”.  At the club level, one member will be responsible for determining the professional development requirements for his/her club.  As a liason, those ideas will be shared at a district level for planning purposes .  If interested, contact Dawn.
 
6. There will be Rotary leadership training in Lloydminster on September 19th.  Only 16 spots are available so if interested sign up on the District website.
 
7. Eugene gave a budget update.  The 14-15 books are at the auditors and the annual general meeting will be held on November 12th.  Fair raffle profit was $3620 and approximately 170 calendars were sold.
 
8. Dawn will be the guest speaker at the lunch meeting in Lloydminster on Monday. She is planning on showcasing our club and projects. If you wish to accompany her, please let her know by |Friday noon.  She is also planning on attending the Vegreville Monday lunch meeting.  Let her know if you’re interested in attending this one with her.
 
9. Curling Bonspiel (March 3-6) is coming along well. We may need some Thursday draws.  Opening ceremonies are Friday around 10:00 AM.  More information to follow.
 
10. District Governor, Tim Shields is urging everyone to attend the District Conference.  Dawn is looking into the possibility of renting a bus to be shared by different clubs.  Dawn shared Sally’s blog highlighting their Vermilion visit.  Blog site is https://governorstravels.wordpress.com.
 
11. Dean commented on the Hands Across the Border conference in Waterton.  He is deciding if he is attending and thinks this would be a good conference.  More discussion later if there is interest.
 
12. Members are invited to participate in the Wainwright Rotary Golf Tournament on August 14th.  Call 842-0047 to register.
