1. If you missed this morning, you missed Jean’s “if it’s in a frying pan, it’s breakfast” apple cake (she even brought some to share later).  Thanks for breakfast Jean and team four.  Guests this morning were Stuart Pauls and Janine Lange.
  2. Bruce was serenaded with happy birthday as his birthday is on the 28th.
  3. Dawn passed around information concerning the “West Africa Polio Immunization” volunteer trip.  Contact her if you require the information.
  4. Rotary will have an information booth at the Vermilion Sign-up day.  Please contact Charlene if you would like to help out.
  5. Spots are still available if you would like to help with the Vermilion Elementary School hot lunch program on the third Thursday of each month.  See Dawn if interested.
  6. Calendar binders are ready to go the first week in September.  Thankyou  Kirby and crew for  organizing this fundraiser.  Now to find the perfect picture(s) for the cover!!
  7. The renos in the library are “pounding” along.  Stuart Pauls gave an update on the project and explained how the space can be rented out to the public.  Interesting fact: the library space is rented out four of the five days that the library is open.
  8. If you have not paid your Rotary dues, please do so by the end of August.
  9. Janine Lange is being proposed for Rotary membership in the Vermilion Club.  Any Rotary members who have comments or concerns pertaining to this proposal need to bring those to the attention of the Executive within the next week.  Thank you Rebekah for making that proposal.
  10. Some updates:
  • More people are becoming aware of and using the outdoor oven.  There will be an open oven on Monday so bring something that you would like to be baked.
  • Our new Rotary student Gustavo Rattmann arrives tomorrow.  Mike and Colton will meet him at the airport.  Wynnychuks will be his first host family.
  • Makalya Kozack, our outbound student, has settled in with her French host family.
  • Workmen are finishing the outdoor rink.  Drive by for a look.
  • Lorne invited everyone to the first high school football game of the year (Friday at 3:00 against Bonnyville).
  • Next week Owen Walker and Selina Clennet will share their RYPEN experiences.
  1.  New deck for the draw, no winners.
