Rotary Celebrating 55 Years in Vermilion!

The Rotary Club of Vermilion held its 55th anniversary of their Charter in this community on Saturday April 24th, 2010 at the Vermilion Senior Centre. At this celebration the club also presented their annual local Rotary Integrity Awards to non-Rotarians from our community.

Each year Rotarians nominate and select one male and one female non-Rotarian from the community to be recognized for exemplifying the high moral standards and ethical leadership which are the foundation of Rotary members worldwide.

This year's Integrity Award recipients are Gerri Cameron and Herb Jamieson. Making the presentations were local Rotarians Lloyd Snelgrove and Scott Webb. The presenters remarked on the contributions these two individuals have made in their community, their fair dealings with others, the time and effort each makes to build good will and continue friendships, as well as their commitment to set and achieve goals of common benefit to the citizens in our area.

To recognize the significant contributions and community service of Gerri and Herb in the Vermilion community, the Rotary Club of Vermilion also made donations of $200 in each of their names to further the good work of the Rotary International Foundation.
