Breakfast Meeting September 3, 2009

President,Shirley McRobert chaired the weekly meeting of the Vermilion Rotary Club on September 3, 2009.
Thank you to Shirley McRobert and Brenda Lee for providing us with a wonderful breakfast to start the morning!
Brenda Lee reported on the Bingos at St.Paul. The trend is that Bingo Revenues are down this year. Thanks to all who have assisted with the Bingo thus far. Future bingo dates are listed in the bulletin and on the website.
Barry reported on the Oktoberfest preparation and circulated a sign up sheet for volunteers to assist with various duties. The menu is being prepared and will have a German theme. See additional information in the events tab!
A reminder that RI President, John Kenny is speaking in Edmonton on September 18. Some club members have already purchased tickets and additional tickets are still available on-line. The club will arrange and pay for "Car Pool" transportation for members who wish to attend. More details are available in the events tab.
Jan reported that she will once again set up the collection boxes at businesses around town to raise money for the Alzheimers Society.
President, Shirley McRobert, reminded the group that we still need to find candidates for the positions of President Elect and Membership Chair. The Club decided that the most recent 3 past presidents that are still active in the club form the nomination committee. This committee will then take the responsibility of finding individuals to fill positions and then be available as a resource to those individuals.
We are planning a trip to Edmonton to see the Eskimos beat the Riders! Read the details in the events tab.
I trust you are all enjoying the beautiful weather we have been blessed with lately, looks like Summer has been extended. To all the farmers, have a great harvest season! See you all on the 10th!
