Breakfast Meeting - October 29, 2009
Posted by Dave Dyck
The meeting was chaired by Club President, Shirley McRobert.
Scott reminded everyone to get the calendar subscriptions completed and handed in to Brenda.
Oktoberfest was another success! Barry, Dwight, Ken and John provided us with an update on the event. We had 215 in attendance and the Silent Auction raised over $6,000. Thanks again to the many volunteers for helping with this event!
Our guest speaker for the morning was Ed Cole with Lakeland College. Ed is on a committee that is heading up the "Canadian Firefighter Statue" project in Vermilion. This project is planned for 2010 and the statue is to be placed just South of the Vermilion Tourist Information Centre on Highway 41. The committee is seeking support of community groups, businesses and individuals to make this project happen. Contributions of any amount will be appreciated and recognized. The replica that Ed presented certainly looked great!
The Rotary Christmas Party has been changed to Wednesday November 25th at 6:30 P.M. at Red Feather Ridge. Hope to see you all there!
Hope you are all having a great week and enjoying the mild weather!
