Club President, Shirley McRobert, opened the meeting with announcements. We then enjoyed breakfast provided by Bob and Eileen.

Barry provided more information on the results of Oktoberfest. 83 items were donated for the silent auction by local businesses and individuals. The whole evening was a success with over $6,000 raised for our club. Thanks Barry for organizing this event and thanks to everyone else who pitched in! Next year's event is planned for October 16th.

Our thursday morning breakfast meetings will be cancelled for the following dates: November 26, December 24 and December 31.

The club decided to sponsor Jordan Poliakiwiski as she competes in Judo internationally. Jordan's many accomplishments include a number of National Junior Championships as well as first place in the Canada Winter Games in 2007. We wish Jordan all the best as she competes around the world!

Our club also decided to contribute to the fund for a local victim of violence who is facing a difficult recovery. We wish a speedy and full recovery for the victim as well as strength for family and friends who are providing support!

Susan McCulley announced that an outbound exchange student has been identified for 2010. The application is in progress.

Jean distributed information on an international project that she is looking into for the club. This project is an orphanage near Mexico City in Cuernavaca.

We also discussed the Valentine's Day Dance plans for February 12, 2010.
