Breakfast Meeting - May 27, 2010

Club President, Shirley McRobert, chaired the morning meeting.
A great breakfast was provided by Charlene Young!
Students from the Adventures in Firefighting camp attended the meeting, introduced themselves and shared about their experience. They all had a great time, talked about their favorite part of the camp and thanked their respective Rotary Clubs for providing them with sponsorship for this adventure. Thanks to Ken Smith for co-ordinating this program and to all those who helped by volunteering their time.
Art, Brenda and Ken did some work at the Rotary Lookout. Thanks for taking care of this on behalf of our Club!

You can view the details of the Lobster Fest coming up on June 10th under "Upcoming Events". Those registered to attend are asked to volunteer to bring food by registering at next week's meeting or by clicking on the volunteer link under the Lobster Fest event.
Devon Pottle is planning to participate in the Alberta Summer Games and has sent a request for Sponsorship. Our Club approved to sponsor Devon. We wish Devon all the best as he competes in this event!
Cindy Raynes participated in the Northern Experience program in Yellowknife in March. Cindy spoke of the great people she met through this experience and the fun things she was able to particpate in. Some of the highlights included visiting the Legislature, the recycling facility, a dog sled tour, helicopter tour, etc. Cindy called this a "once in a lifetime" experience and thanked our club for sponsoring her. Thanks for coming out and sharing your experience with us Cindy!
Chris Barlow, our outbound exchange student, attended this morning. Chris is studying the Mandarin language in preparation for his exchange term in Taiwan. All the best as you conitnue to prepare for this exciting adventure Chris!
Lorne updated us on the inbound exchange student progress. We still need 2 more host families to take in Roosje Bollen from Belgium. The update that Susan had provided is included in this bulletin again for your information.
