Breakfast Meeting March 18, 2010

The meeting was chaired by Club President, Shirley McRobert.
Our guest speaker for the morning was Darla Snow with Vermilion Play Development. VPD operates a play school program as well as after school care. Their focus is to assist with the early development of children. Presently they are in need of sponsors for their adopt-a-child program for families who need their service but cannot afford the fees. Government funding does not cover the full cost of the program. An annual donation of $750 will cover the cost of one child in the program. They are also seeking donations to purchase a photo copier.

Chris Barlow, our outbound exchange student, joined us for the morning as well. Chris is excited to go to Taiwan and found the exchange orientation weekend very helpful in his preparation.
Lorne is expecting to announce our inbound exchange student shortly.
The Lloydminster Clubs are inviting Rotarians to a curling night in Kitscoty tonight at 7 PM. Just show up and teams will be made up as people arrive. There will be a cost of $15 to $20 per person. If you do not wish to curl you can come out for a social night.
The movie "The Age of Stupid" will be shown in the Lakeland College Alumni Hall Theatre on Wednesday March 31 at 7pm. Admission is a suggested $2 to support the College Enviro Club.
Just when we thought Winter was over...well the farmers will appreciate the moisture!
