Breakfast Meeting - August 19, 2010
Posted by Dave Dyck
The meeting was chaired by President Elect, Scott Webb
Ken Rosher updated us on the Rotary Golf Tourney on Saturday Aug 21 and advised that more golfers are needed. If you, or anyone you know is interested in participating please contact Ken.
Brenda Lee needs 2 more volunteers for the Bingo in St. Paul on Aug 20. If you can help out please contact Brenda.
Thursday, Aug 26, will be the first meeting with Roosje, our exchange student, in our club. Be sure to join us next week to meet Roosje.
Gary Walsh and John Lunty are planning a community awareness/information evening in early September. This will be an opportunity to meet and introduce prospective members as well as introduce Roosje to the community. If you know of someone you would like to invite to this event please talk to Gary or John!
We need an activity co-ordinator for the Pancake Breakfast on September 23 at the Chamber of Commerce Business Garage Sale. Our club will be hosting the breakfast and all the proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity. Contact John Lunty if you can help by co-ordinating this event.
We are also looking for a volunteer to organize the club social on September 30th.
Our guest speaker was Brenda Ritz with Vermilion Habitat for Humanity. Brenda provided an overview of what Habitat is about as well as an update on the Vermilion project. Presently about $60,000 have been raised with approximately $40,000 more required to complete the project. It is expected that the project will proceed in the Spring of 2011. For more information on Habitat visit www.habitatvermilion.ca.
Have a great week everyone!
