This playground addition with be more geared to the toddlers of our community. There is presently a toddler playground on the east side where the old pool swimming used to be located and will be coming to the end of its life expectancy. The playground that they are proposing to build is across from the Alliance Church where an existing older child one already is. In the Alliance Church there is a daycare located that has approximately 15 very young kids and they are also adding an older group to the church soon. The town is willing to help with prepping the land and provide the engineered wood chips along with benches and garbage cans. The daycare would also like to have a fence around the play area.
There is a 12 week turn around time to get the playground. It is coming from a Canadian company that outsource their stuff from the USA, so the final cost is unknown right now. Lions are requesting that Rotary support with about half the cost which could be approximately $35000. Executive will be deciding on the amount and will than bring to the club. Lions will also be looking into other organizations to help with this project.
