  • Lloydminster Sexual Assault Services (LSAS) Presentation – LSAS supports the area, they travel to local communities to provide support. They cover communities like Wainwright, Vermilion, Maidstone, Bonnyville from their Lloydminster base. One of 9 main centres for Alberta. They have a support element, and an educational roll. Their main centre is downtown Lloydminster, they are located in the old City Hall / Fire Dept. building built in 1927. They offer support services in hospitals, court, homes just to name a few. Anger resolution, Art, Play therapies, Reconnection, Trauma informed Yoga, EMDR, Little Bear Child Youth advocacy centre. They are going to be installing a remote system so individuals can participate in court remotely so they can be in a safe environment. They have been in operation for 40 years. Supported 800 individuals in the last year alone, with 150 people on the waitlist. They have a significant investment into their existing facility, and they want to honor the existing investment by community stakeholders and complete required repairs to maintain the facility far into the future. They have a goal of $450,000, at this point they are at $85,000 towards their goal. They hope to be able to start repairs this spring. Ask to community members to participate in their Foundation Five Hundred to help them reach their goal.
