New Business:
  1. Guest speaker Brian Match, Kalyna Country Primary Care Network (KCPCN).  Brian shared a lot of information about the primary Care Network(PCN).  The Mission of the PCN is to provide primary healthcare closer to home and their vision is proactive care that conquers the burden of disease.  There are 41 PCNs in Alberta including ours which is the Kalyna Country Primary Care Network.  Our network serves Killam, Sedgewick, Tofield, Vegreville, Vermilion, Viking and surrounding communities and all of the physicians in Vermilion except 1 are members of the KCPCN.  Currently the 41 PCNs are not linked but AHS is in the process of trying to connect them. Some of the programs provided by the PCN are:  Diabetic Wellness/Chronic Disease management clinics, the Well Woman Clinic, and the Alternative Clinic.  Funding for the PCN is based on the number of attached patients(who become part of a physicians “panel”) at a rate of $62/year that the physician has.  There has also been some government funding and access to grants, however, this may change with current cutbacks.  I haved added the link to see all of the information and services available through the PCN and I have also attached a copy of the hand out Brian brought to the meeting.

Sargent report-Erwin let members off easy this week, but if you don’t go out and enjoy the beautiful weather this week and the extra day(leap year), you will be fined next week.
Meeting adjourned
