Current enrollment 2500 students EMT 1650 students. 940 are enrolled in the trades at this time, which is down from a few years ago. There are 250 international students on campus this year and Lakeland college was named as one of the top 75 employers of the year in Alberta. Lakeland college also boasts world class crop plots through student managed programs.
Lakeland college is celebrating 106 years this fall and donations from 2 alumni in the amount of $500,000 each will be going toward the purchase of more land.
There has been a campus renewal going on for the past year or so, 4 labs have been reno’d, the dairy learning center and Animal Health. The college strives to make the students learning experience an awesome one.
Alice and Colleen had a short video presentation for us and then questions from the floor. Shaun Jacula asked how Lakeland college faired after recent budget cuts. Alice explained that Lakeland college had planned ahead for budget cuts that they had expected would be coming and are sitting in a fairly good position.
Alice closed by saying that student management within Lakeland colleges’ programming helps develop skills students need when entering the work force. And that she is proud to be a member of our great community

Allan said that the playground planning began when he first became principal at St. Jerome’s, over the years of fundraising they realized that their initial idea of the cost of a playground was substantially less than the actual cost.
