- Volunteer hour binder is circulating, please fill out your hours .
- Cheques were received from the district $3075 for Books for Belize and $565 for scholarships
- Haying in the 30’s fundraiser-Janine Lange reported back to the club that the “Haying in the 30’s” cookie fundraiser will only run 1 day this year. Friday November 29 from 5:30 to 9:30pm with the base location being the Modern Edge Painting store. Sign up sheets are circulating for cookie donations and shifts. If you have any questions regarding this fundraiser contact Janine up until November 22 after that date contact Dawn Riley.
- Robin Sherwood reminded the club that November is Foundation month and we should remember all of the good things supported by the Rotary Foundation. He is also holding a Sea Can painting bee this Saturday, November 16. Please contact him if you are available to help paint the Sea Can that is loaded with books and headed for Belize
- Peace Officers Chris Fithen, Town of Vermilion and Roland Fiest, County of Vermilion River Government departments, municipalities, and other organizations are uthorized by the Alberta Government to employ peace officers. Chris Fithen gave a brief power point presentation regarding his role as a Peace Officer for the Town of Vermilion. His main areas are: Education of the public, animal control, traffic enforcement, to be a liason with the police and to supplement the RCMP. Some areas of concern for Peace Officers at a municipal level are: 1) speed in playground zones 2) commercial vehicle monitering 3) they have no radio contact with the RCMP 4)they have no access to defensive tools. Roland Fiest, representing the County Peace Officers stated that the county mainly moniters heavy trucks and equipment on county roads. They do not respond to any criminal calls. The presentations were followed by a brief question & answer session
Sargent report-Erwin Warkentin, Rotary Club of Vermilions’ PEACE OFFICER said no fines today, just help your president out by completing your volunteer hours in the binder
