Funding Request-Vermilion VIBE

Keri Thompson is a coach with Vermilion Vibe and gave the club a brief overview of what VIBE does.  “VIBE is one of the Mental Health Capacity Building sites that received annualized funding from AHS.  With this funding all MHCBs have the same mission and objectives and will follow the same framework which is based in research and best practice for children/youth and their families.  VIBE’s mission is to work to promote mental health in children, youth, families and individuals in the community who interact with children and youth.”
VIBE received news of changes to their funding and programming structure in mid August, just 2 weeks before school started.  In order to honor previous commitments, VIBE continued with parts of their programming and because of this have a shortfall in the budget for many of the activities/resources that are normally funded.  They have put forward a request to FCSS to assist but are approaching the Rotary as well.  The current shortfall is $11,862.  They should have an answer from the FCSS by late November/early December and will have a better idea of exactly how much assistance they will be needing at that time.  Keri did stress that this is a “one time” ask and they have a 3 year contract in place so after this year they shouldn’t have any surprises.

Sargent report- If you did not know that October 24 is World Polio day to honor Dr Jonas Salk’s birthday…pay.  If you do not know what article of clothing was “kidnapped” at the District Conference pay up
