Rotary Club of Vermilion  Oct 8, 2020 
Call to order 7am

Introduction of Guests:  Sylvia Warkentin-Erwin’s Mom and Jessie’s Oma
Birthdays and Anniversaries:  Rebekah joined Rotary Oct 2/14     Dawn Riley’s birthday Oct 13 and also Jessie Warkentein’s 1st birthday today!                                                                                 
 
Old Business:
  • Reminder for Integrity Awards nominations
  • October is Polio Awareness month-the coffee cup challenge continues…..
  • Flag Fixing-Erwin suggested October 17 or 24 to meet and check the flags.  Please let Erwin know asap which day works best for you.  The majority of people who can help on either day will determine which day it will be held.  Shouldn’t be too long of a work session and will be held at Webb’s RV.
  • Loretta updated club members on the Reuse/Recycle program.  The town is already looking into this project and has a projected site picked out.  If the project goes forward, the Town would foot the bill and Rotary would run it.
New Business
  • Brighter Beginnings-Susan Kern sent a funding request to the club for a special wheelchair for one of the students.  The chair will allow easier access for the child to participate with the rest of the class at the tables.  The executive is in favor of the request and will bring the group in to present
  • Membership-Darlene is looking into the club possibly changing the membership bylaws.  We currently have Honorary members and Active members which are both considered an Individual Membership.  We are looking into changing to 3 types of memberships 1) Corporate  2)  Couples  3) Individuals.  By changing the classification of memberships, hopefully we can attract new members.  Darlene has contacted the Membership liason at the district level for info on other clubs that may have changed their membership types.   Mike asked members present to brainstorm for potential new members
Sargent report- Erwin reminded members about the Polio coffee cup challenge  .  Lisa passed the Canada ball on to Rebekah, she wanted to give it to Jessie for being the cutest potential Rotarian and because it was his birthday but didn’t want him to use it as a teething toy.
