Special Guests- Wendy McDonald, Rotarian & COO Inclusion AB. Robin Acton, Rotarian & Former President of Inclusion AB. Jenna Pellerin Inclusion AB Partnership Coordinator
The guests explained what the Rotary Employment partnership is and how is helps members of our community with developmental disabilities find meaningful employment in our community. There is currently an 80% unemployment rate for people with developmental disabilities in Alberta. Inclusion Alberta is a non-profit, voluntary association of more than 40 organizations from across Alberta representing the interest of children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. It seeks to fit employees with developmental disabilities with meaningful employment. Inclusion AB partners with local Rotary clubs and the Alberta Government to connect employees to employers within communities. Jenna works as the connection between Inclusion AB and the employer to find the right employee for the job posted.
Wendy and Robin are reaching out to the Vermilion Club to join the partnership in our community to help introduce Inclusion AB to potential leads for employment.
