Treasurer’s Report: Nothing new to report at this time
Business:
- Garage Sale update: Brenda gave an update that the dates have been confirmed with the venues and all volunteer groups and other groups involved. We usually feature one “signature” project that we commit the first $5000 of the funds raised toward. They Garage Sale committee has had some conversation with the Vermilion Volunteer Fire Department and have discussed a few needs the department has. The one item that the Fire Dept suggested would be a huge asset to them would be a purchase of a drone. Brenda proposed a recommendation to the club to donate the first $5000 of funds raised from the garage sale towards the VFD purchase of a drone. Full cost of the drone is $9200. All members present were in favour by a show of hands
- Books for Belize-ongoing
- 2022-23 Executive-Incumbent president Erwin Warkentin is still in need of a secretary and a president elect. These roles can be modified to suit different needs so if you are interested or have any ideas get a hold of Erwin
- Flags- we will be having a work bee March 26 at 9am at the Webb’s Building. Erwin will send out reminders.....Rebekah will remind Erwin to remind us
- Integrity awards/Charter night-Dawn is in charge of the Integrity Awards so if you know of anyone deserving of this award let Dawn know. Lisa is the Charter Night banquet/social. Charter night is usually held in April just after the Music Festival, there is no festival this year so we decided to try something different. We are thinking of holding this as a combined event with our Garage Sale volunteer breakfast. We would have an evening event at the Legion with possibly a burgers, salads etc and some kind of live entertainment. This is all just a suggestion so if anyone has any ideas let Lisa know. The tentative dates for the event would be May 4 or 11. Watch or updates
