We were honored to support our homeless Veterans.  Local friends including Cape + Islands Veterans Outreach Center along with our very own District Governor Angela Ponte and Assistant Governor Chris O’Brien joined our cause.  Together we built backpacks full of hygiene products, blankets, socks and encouraging messages.  All to promote physical and mental safety.  We partnered with Cape + Islands Veterans Outreach Center who graciously support our veteran community and provide ongoing support in multiple ways.
Cape + Islands Veterans Outreach Center provide comprehensive life sustaining services for veterans and their families.  The outreach center provides multiple forms of support including housing, food, transportation, clothing and mental health counseling.  They assist with permanent housing and also provide transitional housing to homeless veterans.  Through counseling and a case manager, the outreach center provides support to enable individuals to move on to permanent housing and live independent, meaningful lives.  There are multiple food pantry locations including Eastham, Falmouth and Vineyard Haven providing hot food with a service mentality to serve their guests.  Additionally, there are mobile pantries delivering produce and food to our veterans.  The center also supports both veterans and their families by offering mental health support with committed and seasoned professionals.
