The Barnstable Sunrise Rotary Club kicked off A Baby Center's Annual Diaper Drive on Saturday, March 6 at BJ's Wholesale Club, 420 Attucks Lane in Hyannis, MA from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.
Many of BJ's customers visited information tables including car seat safety education by a certified car seat technician, Kate O'Connell, information and staff on-site from the March of Dimes and A Baby Center, and a live radio remote by Cool 102's Joe Rosetti. BJ's staff joined the fun and made ice cream floats with all proceeds donated to A Baby Center. Mary Pat Piersons and Tish Friend of A Baby Center were thrilled with the amount of diaper donations. Mary Pat stated, "The volunteers from Barnstable Sunrise Rotary are amazing! We are so pleased with the turnout and donations today." BJ's is still collecting donated packages of diapers for A Baby Center until March 13. Proctor & Gamble has donated a pallet of diapers to A Baby Center to launch the event. A Baby Center currently has a critical need for size 4, 5 and 6 size diapers. Other businesses and groups that would like to participate should contact A Baby Center at helpingbabies@verizon.net or 508-771-8157. The organization that donates the most diapers will receive a free donut breakfast from Honey Dew Donuts in Hyannis!
