PLEASE TAKE TIME TO MEET THE GREAT ROTARACT CLUB MEMBERS BY DOING A MAKE UP MEETING AT 4C'S

 

 The Rotaract Club meets every Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. in the Club Room which is located on the top floor of the Grossman Commons Building.  Easiest access to that building is from parking lot #9.  You just walk up the hill and the building will be to the left.  If you continue walking past the first door and enter the 2nd entrance, there is an elevator to your right as soon as you get through the door.  Take the elevator to 2R and look for the Club Room on the other side of the room.
 We will resume our meetings on January 26th but, will be involved with the new student orientation.  All clubs will have a table in the cafeteria (same building, 1sts floor) to try to initiate new members.  After that we will conduct all meetings in the Club Room for the rest of the semester.  There is a Spring Break in March when the students are away.

Activities and Accomplishments

2009 - 2010

 

  •         Over 30 student members participated in meetings, fundraisers and event
  •  
  •     In November we collected food items and delivered 12 Thanksgiving "baskets" to families in partnership with the Missy's Closet and Salvation Army
  •  
  •     We assisted with the Hyannis Rotary Club Home Show and sold pansies to raise money for ShelterBox USA (March 25th - raising $1,352.00)
  •  
  •    Officers attended Hyannis Rotary Club meeting to represent and promote the Club
  •     One of the members created Valentine's Day cards in Arabic and sold them to raise money for our club ($75.00 )
  •  
  •     We created 10 Easter baskets for The Angel House in Hyannis (5 for boys/5 for girls) - they were filled with toys, candy and goodies donated by the club members
  •  
  •     We participated and helped set up for the Multicultural Festival (many of our members were in presentations or performances during this event)
  •  
  •      We raised $45.00 for the ShelterBox during the Multicultural Festival with the use of a coin machine. Proceeds were given to Yarmouth Rotary for their donation of a ShelterBox to ShelterBox USA
  •  
  •      We donated two (2) ShelterBoxes in our name to ShelterBox USA ($1,000 each)
  •  
  •      We participated in all Club Days and Open House events to promote our club - (We dressed up like different celebrities from all over the world that have made it and give back - i.e. Angelina Jolie, Jay-Z, Oprah, Madonna, etc.)
  •  
  •      We fundraised at the Cape Cod Mall for ShelterBox.  Members took shifts for about a month to raise money in partnership with the Yarmouth Rotary. (As of 3/1/10 they were able to send 488 boxes to Chile)
  •      We donated a $500.00 scholarship from our club to the Bob Smith Scholarshi
  •  
  •      The Officers and another member will represent the Club at the Barnstable Sunrise Rotary on May 17th to discuss our accomplishments and the impact Rotaract has had on our lives.
  •  
  •      On May 22-23, some members will participate in the RYLA event at Sea Camps in Brewster, MA to teach high school sophomores - seniors and freshman college students the importance of giving back, and promoting Rotaract by helping to coordinate in planned activities and to speak during the weekend on Community Service/Rotaract.
  •  
  •      We rewarded ourselves by joining with the Student Senate and other Clubs for an End of the Year celebration at the Seaview Restaurant in Dennisport (May 5th)
