Today’s Speaker:  Joan Ricci, retiring sadclub member and Literacy Center director.
 
PROGRAM:  Joan spoke of her upbringing and how that led to her wanting to explore different cultures and people. Starting with an Italian family and neighborhood, then marrying her Italian husband, having children and then embarking on a varying career. The last stop in her working days was 16 years with the Attleboro Literacy Center. 
 
SURPRISE! - After Joan's talk, Joan Pilkington-Smyth presented a Paul Harris Fellow award to Joan Ricci in recognition of her service to the community and the Attleboro Rotary Club. Congratulations Joan.

Cheryl Nimiroski, wife of former member Andy, passed away this week. Our condolences to her family.
 
Kathy Hague announced the recent retirement of Dr. Bruce Auerbach, who has led Sturdy Hospital for the last four years.

CLUB NEWS: 
 
Remember - no meeting at Bliss Dairy for the next 2 weeks. Next meeting at the Dairy will be July 11.
 
A get well and speedy recovery to two members - George Spatcher and Paul Ladouceur.
 
A Rotary community service planting project will take place on Saturday, July 7 at 8:00 am at the YMCA's Camp Finberg in Norton. Kevin Cryan will be spearheading the event and is looking for volunteers. An email will be going out. Please respond to the email so we can be sure there will be proper participation.
