Summer Reading Program Supports Project Amigo

 

Supporting increased literacy is a goal of both the Stony Plain Library and the Rotary Club of Stony Plain.  The children involved in the Summer 2015 reading program exceeded their goal of reading 135,000 pages this summer.  They actually read a grand total of 141,218 pages!  To celebrate this achievement, the Library made a $500 donation to Project Amigo which was matched by the Rotary Club of Stony Plain.  The combined $1000 donation to Project Amigo will be used to support reading and literacy in Colima, Mexico.
