On Wednesday April 20, the Rotary Club of Stony Plain heard the heart  felt account from Elly Contreras on her and husband Ramiro's trip to Colima Mexico. Elly was accompanied by a slide presentation, compiled by them, entitled,
"The Children of Sanchez".

Project Amigo has been active for over 25 years, providing an education to the poorest of the poor, who live in the mountains of Colima, Mexico and inviting volunteers from North America during the winter months to help them achieve their goals.
Elly and Ramiro Contreras just returned from Colima, Mexico from a six month volunteer assignment, as volunteer coordinators, where they witnessed extreme poverty. It is very moving to see the progress the children make and the gratitude they and their parents show for the work Project Amigo and its volunteers do. Anyone interested in becoming a sponsor for a scholar or participate in one of the future workweeks, can visit <www.projectamigo.org> or contact Elly at <pacs@projectamigo.org>

Mark June 25th for the Fiesta Mexicana fundraiser with honorary guests, founders Ted Rose and Susan Hill.
Tickets will be available at the meeting or by contacting Elly
