Yes, you can visit our Mid-Cities Pacesetters Rotary Club meeting! We are normal people who live and work in Hurst, Euless, Bedford, North Richland Hills, and surrounding cities. Guests join us at nearly every meeting for a variety of reasons:

  • to hear from our scheduled speaker,
  • to get involved with our service & giving projects, and
  • to have breakfast and connect with people who believe positive change is possible locally and globally.

What is Rotary?

Rotary International is a global organization dedicated to positive, lasting change -- 1.2 million people of action in 35,000 clubs who work together to promote peace; fight disease; provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene; save mothers and children; support education; and grow local economies. We combine our individual strengths to achieve more. Rotary celebrates the worthiness of all professions and is open to all people, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, color, abilities, religion, socioeconomic status, culture, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity.

If those goals speak to your soul, then join us for breakfast, and we’ll work together to make them happen.

What to Expect

After you park at Texas Star Conference Center, walk in the building’s main entrance under the covered driveway facing the parking lot. Immediately turn left down a window-lined hallway. We usually meet in the “San Jacinto” room, which will be the first meeting room on your right. You’re welcome to walk in and say “hi!” At the table by the door, we will have a sign-in sheet for guests, so we can briefly welcome you or allow you to introduce yourself.

Our Friday morning meetings usually have 15 to 20 attendees. A few club members usually start setting up for the meeting around 6:45am. Around 7:00am, members and guests arrive, chat, find a seat, and make themselves a plate from the breakfast table.

The meeting formally begins at 7:15am when our club president rings a bell and welcomes everyone. Everyone will stand briefly (as they’re able) while club members give an invocation and lead the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States and Texas flags. Our secretary’s report is next, and that’s when we usually welcome any guests and give them the opportunity to briefly introduce themself.

Our members will pass around two donation buckets. Everyone is welcome to contribute a few dollars, but there is absolutely no expectation -- it is normal for members and guests to pass the bucket without contributing that week. Donations to both buckets go to local charities. The larger bucket is passed around each table; the smaller bucket is called the “happy bucket”, and people who contribute will announce something they’re happy about -- sometimes serious, but often something fun.

Club officers and members will share information about club milestones and upcoming service projects, and any other announcements our members need to know.

We typically aim to introduce our program or speaker at about 7:30am. We most often invite speakers from local companies, non-profits, and government offices to tell us about current developments in their field of work. A few times each year, we focus on club business or just have fun and play games.

We aim to wrap up and thank our speaker after about 25-30 minutes. Everyone will briefly stand while a club member leads the club in reciting the Rotary 4-Way Test, then the president will ring the bell again to end the meeting at about 8:00am. Some people will have to leave immediately, and some will linger to chat, ask questions to the speaker, or finish breakfast.
