On Fat Tuesday, the students at the Village Library read about the History of Mardi Gras, its meanings, its traditions and specifically about activities in New Orleans. Then they put on their masks and beads and marched to "When the Saints Come Marching In" accompanied by an ex-club member, Joe Spay on his accordion. Next week they will be treated to a King Cake and the tradition of King Cake parties.
The Village Library is not just about doing homework and reading. The kids often have a current event that they are learning about as well. We always need more volunteers. If you are available at 5pm on Tuesday or Thursday, let Sharon Cox know
