Sixteen years ago member Sharon Cox founded the non-profit organization "The Ladder Alliance" whose mission is to provide women victims of domestic violence and low-income women with the tools to lead self-reliant, independent and successful lives. She started with a contribution of $200 from each board member with no employees. This year the budget is over $750,000 with several full time employees. On Friday April 26th The Ladder Alliance held their 7th annual "It's In The Bag" fundraiser and it was the last function that Sharon would oversea as the Executive Director. She leaves a thriving organization that would not be the success it is without her vision and determination. We all should be proud that we know her and that she exemplified Rotary's "Service Above Self"... I know I do...
