DFW National Cemetery
The Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery is the final resting place for Veterans and their spouses who served in the armed forces and were honorably discharged...
The cemetery was dedicated and opened for burials May 12, 2000, and is situated on a 638.5 acre parcel of land that overlooks picturesque Mountain Creek Lake. As of October 22nd there has been 32,566 burials provided by the National Cemetery Administration at no cost to the Veteran. This includes burial plot; opening and closing of the gravesite; a government liner; headstone or marker with inscription; interment flag; perpetual care of the gravesite; and a Presidential Memorial Certificate.
The cemetery has a public information center where visitors can obtain information from volunteers who staff the center seven days a week. For fellow Rotarians, who are Veterans, this can be an opportunity to help the national cemetery. The PIC is staffed by two volunteers eight hours a day, seven days a week. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Mickey Prendergast, Director of volunteers, at mickiepr@sbcglobal.net...
