The Rotary Club of Yarmouth has the pleasure of recognizing the area's youth for their exceptional academic or community involvement. For years, the club has brought in high school students from the Dennis- Yarmouth district as well as Cape Cod Regional Technical School to share their accomplishments.
The Rotary Club of Yarmouth has the pleasure of recognizing the area's youth for their exceptional academic or community involvement. For years, the club has brought in high school students from the Dennis- Yarmouth district as well as Cape Cod Regional Technical School to share their accomplishments.
Guidance counselors at each of the schools actively look for those students who excel academically and/or in the community for this recognition. Often times, these students are involved in multiple sports or school clubs as well as outside activities that service the community. The students are given the opportunity to share a bit about themselves with the club which includes their plans after high school. The club enjoys hearing from the youth and encourages their continued growth.
The club remains committed to the students in the community. In 2018, Yarmouth Rotary held its Annual Golf Tournament at the Cummaquid Golf Course in Yarmouthport. This event was responsible for funding 20 scholarships to students of Dennis and Yarmouth in 2017, the 2018 tournament netted over $28,000 and the club is committed to additional scholarships to students this year.
