Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation

Invites applications for grants from its Jasper Fire Relief Fund
Who We are.
The Rotary District 5370 Charitable Foundation is a CRA registered public foundation incorporated under the Societies Act of Alberta. RD5370CF is managed entirely by volunteers, with no paid staff. The foundation is governed by a 7-member board of directors, all members of Rotary clubs in the district.

What is the Jasper Fire Relief Fund
The Jasper Fire Relief Fund was established by the foundation to provide relief to charitable organizations, non-profit community organizations, clubs, school groups, seniors groups, and other community groups impacted by the Jasper wildfire. Funds for the fire relief fund were donated by Rotary clubs, Rotarians, and other individuals from across Canada.

How Much is in the Fund?
There is approximately $125,000 in the fund. $70,000 will be made available for the first round.

What Are the Funding Criteria
Priority will be given to applications in the areas of mental health, recreation, school programs, and programs for seniors. In addition, the funding (project) being applied for must:
- be wildfire related.
-  be sustainable.
-  be defined and specific.

Who May Apply? How Do We Apply?
CRA Registered organizations (qualified donees) may apply directly to us for funding. Other groups (unqualified donees/nonprofits) may also submit their applications through an arrangement with the municipality.
Since circumstances differ, the foundation has not devised a specific application form. Groups may use whatever application format is most suitable. However, each application needs to include at least the following:
1.    Name of project
2.    Name and number of Group applying and its status (e.g. CRA registered charity, Registered Alberta Society). All groups must have been in operation for at least two years and have a board of directors.
3.    Project Director and contact person
4.    Information on how your organization was impacted by the wildfire.
5.    Needs assessment (why do you need the funds)
6.    Brief description of the project
7.    Total project budget and amount being applied for
8.    Information as to impact (how many individuals will be affected by the project and how)
9.    Sustainability (how will the project continue)
