Rotary Day
Posted by Naomi Ducklow
In Grande Prairie Rotary Day is Monday, February 28th. We'll celebrate
with a multi club luncheon at the Holiday Inn. We are delighted to have Past
District 5360 Governor Mark Starratt join us as a featured presenter.
(District 5360 is south of us and includes Southern Alberta and a bit of
Saskatchewan) Mark was District Governor in 2008 2009. Mark is a Paul
Harris Fellow, a charter member of the Paul Harris Society, a member of the
Bequest Society and a Major Donor of The Rotary Foundation.
Working in the
financial services industry since 1991, Mark is currently Director,
Portfolio Manager and Partner with GMP Private Client LP. Mark co-leads The
Starratt Team, a 5-member investment management and financial planning team
with his brother, Scott. In September 2005, Mark was named one of Calgary's
Top 40 Under 40 for his professional success and commitment to the
community.
Mark will be speaking on the accomplishments of Rotarians in our District
and Grande Prairie. He will be touching on the impact our clubs have made
on Grande Prairie and the world. He will also discuss the differences we
are making in the lives of people every day right here in Grande Prairie.
As you can expect, this is an ideal day to bring a potential Rotarian.
Mark's positive message should have us all excited about Rotary's future in
our community. Potential members hopefully will leave with a bigger picture
on what Rotary is, what we are accomplishing and why we remain so excited
to put "Service above self".
