We had a few long days at the end of our drive, we were a little over 6 hours at the border with Murray from the Edson club winning the pool. (He bought beer with it) so we went as far as Hermosillo that night and had a great, great steak supper. We were up early and on the road by 9am our truck was doing good until about 2hrs into the drive all of a sudden it was not in gear anymore, apparently the differential has unhooked, so our very own MacGyver (Len) fixed it and we were on the road again in no time. Until the next time the front tire went flat again. Same tire as the one that we had to buy new in Las Vegas because it blew apart on an off ramp. This time everyone waited and Pepesan was able to have it fixed and put back on the truck quite quickly for being in Mexico. So we were off again this was a our last day and we were all ready to be there so there was no time to stop and eat, it was day of grab and drive eating. We arrived in Mazatlan at approx. 12:30 in the am and were greeted by about 20 young fireman that were very excited to see their new fire trucks. We parked the trucks and were taken to our hotel. Checked in and walked down the street to have our first beer in Mazatlan, very happy to have the next 2 days off.
Sat in the sun and relaxed for the weekend. Meetings and work began early Monday morning with a Rotary meeting, then another one for lunch we were free by the time happy hour came around and well that was that for the day. Tuesday morning early Rotary meeting then we were off to do first Fire truck presentation about 2 hours away from Mazatlan, that was extremely touching and of course we had to have lunch with them, an ocean side restaurant again!!!! Then drive back to Mazatlan to have supper with a group of Rotarians waiting for us at a country restaurant. Will try to update again tomorrow.
