A TaSte Of BoLiViA
Bolivia Night was a fund raiser hosted by the Sunrise Rotary Club of Grande Prairie. It was held on November 20,2004 to raise funds to send our exchange student on the Rotary Cross Canada Tour.
What a wonderful evening it was!!
Raising approximately $4500.00 Denise will be able to see all of Canada first hand!
Ninety-six people attended an evening filled with Bolivan Music, Food and Dancing. Wine was donated by fellow Rotarians. The Dunes Golf and Winter Club donated the room and prepared the food to our Bolivan recipes at a very reasonable cost. There were 20 Bolivan lemon pies baked by, Denise Zenteno, the exchange student. Her host dad, Dale Carlson helped with the poes as well.
Ticket prices were set at $35.00 per person, along with a silent auction, square draw and a 50/50 draw were the major parts of the fund raiser. All auction items and door prizes were donated by rotarians and local business people.
Bolivia night was a huge success because of the hard work of all rotary members and their families that were involved.
A big thank you to all our silent auction and door prize contributors: Kim Fenton, Gladys Blackmore, Jord Carlson, Doug Hare, Luke Nagge, Darryl Bartie, Drake Houssain, Andre Oullette, Rene Mazo, Augustin Ebiny, Ed & Joyce Boyce, Peter & Fran Biegel, Brent & Cindy Oilund, Lyle Carlstrom, Les & Corrine Kerik, Lorraine Smythe, Greg Carlson, Darcy Halwa, Bruce Dube, Jody & Dale Carlson.
The wine sponsors were Harvey Syrota, Bill Stepanko and Gerry Dobko. The sponsor for the flowers, for the 11 tables and the big bouquet was Don Lindsay. A big thank you to all of you.
