Hello Fellow Rotarians!

Spring returned for a short time and club members have been busy working on cleaning our District Grant project at Hillcrest Transitional Housing last Saturday with the aide of our Interact members from Liberty North.  Our Rotary sponsored table at Hillcrest Night of Hope Gala did not win any prizes but a lot of fun was had by all.

Our program this week will be a celebration of "SHOES" as we work to raise our shoe collection even higher!   Kimbal reports that his staff at Vocational Services Inc have already packed the donated shoes to date......so they need more!!

It is with a sad heart I report that one of the club's longtime members, Dub Steincross, died last weekend.  We remember Dub for his skill with oration and because he was one of the nicest people around.  He will be greatly missed.  Information about services can be found at this link.

Have a great week,

Jennifer

District Grant: Flooring Repairs at Hillcrest Hope Apt:   Big shout-out to our Interact team for their help cleaning at Transitional Housing apartment Saturday!

Also a special thanks to Justus for picking the mattress that was donated for the apartment (thank you Anne Champ's colleague) and for setting up the bedframe.    More work to come for apt #3 so keep your eyes out for notices from our work team: Anne & Dustin!

Rotary PR- Our Rotary club sponsored a table at the Hillcrest Night of Hope Gala last Saturday.    It was an excellent adventure even though no one at our table won the "ultimate" package"  but we did get to be one of the four tables to go to the buffet first!  We also got to have Ken and Leisha Barry sit with us.  They both help out with projects at Rotary Plaza and it is nice to see them without making them work!

BLAST from the PAST:  Do you remember this district grant project from four years ago, Community Garden at Ruth Moore Park?
Well it is time to sign up for a bed if you want to garden this year.

It is just amazing how much our project impacted this park and how well received the garden has been by the community!

Work Day at Rotary Plaza:    We are having two spring work days at Rotary Plaza this year.
1) April 5th at 9am we will be doing a "deep" clean of the cabinets and floor.
2)  April 12th at 9am we will be doing our traditional "Mulch" day Garden cleanup.  Our garden team, Town & Garden Country Club, will be there to guide our pitch forks!  We will also be taking out the yew bushes at the end of the drive with Mark's prior experience to assit us!
