Follow-up Letter from Innocent Magambi

Rotarian Leaders,

Thank you so much for allowing me to bring Innocent Magambi to your clubs to speak to them about refugees in Africa. He has sent me the following thank you to distribute to you and your clubs if you see fit.  Additional copies of his book “Refugee for Life” are available at www.kibebe.com if any of your members missed out on the opportunity to get them while we were visiting.

Again, thank you so much. You are doing good in the world. I hope to see you all at the District Foundation Dinner on November 5th.

YIRS,
Marc Horner

Rotary statement on recent polio detections
in U.S. & Europe
The recent detection of the vaccine-derived poliovirus type 2 case in New York, USA, and isolates in several environmental samples collected in London are stark reminders that as long as polio exists anywhere, it is a threat everywhere.
Presidential Message: October 2022
In August, I was proud to visit Pakistan and highlight Rotary’s top goal, eradicating polio. It was also a tremendous opportunity to spotlight female health workers who are playing a critical role in protecting children from this vaccine-preventable disease.
This month, as we celebrate World Polio Day, we are shining a spotlight on our more than 30-year effort to lead the first global polio eradication campaign and our success in forming partnerships capable of completing this massive goal. We all know that this is one of the most ambitious global health initiatives in history and that we’ve reduced polio cases by more than 99.9 percent worldwide.
