Our speaker this week is Hailey Sherif, Engagement Specialist, from the National WWI Memorial & Museum. She is going to update us on all the current and upcoming exhibits at the museum.
We have reached the end of March and there are three important projects we have been working on:
1) Youth Scholarships '25 - the scholarship team has been hard at work reviewing and interviewing student applicants and the finalists have been chosen! The names of the winners will not be released until after the Student Awards Ceremony later this spring.
2) Shoes for Orphan Souls-this project will continue through April so continue to collect and/or donate! Happy dollars in April will go to this project.
3) Butt Buster BBQ '25- we have been finding sponsors and you can continue to do that, but promotional items are being printed and will go out in April so sponsors found after April 1st may not make some promotional lists. We start selling event tickets beginning in April. Ticket sales are an important part of our BBQ event and we encourage everyone to sell as many tickets as they can! The club does assign all members to take ownership of at least 10 (ten) tickets at $12/ticket. Members will be billed for the 10 (ten) tickets by David Evans through Rotary Club of Liberty MO Foundation. If a member is also a sponsor then they will not be assigned tickets in addition to what their sponsorship covers. If you have any questions reach out to David and he can assist you.
Next week we are being "kicked out" of The Treehouse, so we will have our meeting at Rotary Plaza instead. Our speaker next week is a K-9 team from the Clay County Sherriff's office so the outdoor location will be perfect.
Have a great week,
Jennifer

Shoes for Orphan Souls Update: Our "New" shoe collection will continue through April. Bring your shoe collection to our meetings or you can make arrangements with Kimbal to deliver them to directly to Vocational Services Inc. Staff at VSI are assisting us with packing and storing our shoes again this year and we are very thankful! If you don't want to shop, donate some funding and our "professional shoe shoppers" will gladly spend it for you!
Work Day at Rotary Plaza: We are having three spring work days at Rotary Plaza this year.
1) April 1st - Mark and his teammate, Nathan Spencer, are bringing a truck and chain to remove the yew bushes on the west side of the pavilion from 2pm to 3pm. Guests are welcome to stop by and watch the action! Snacks will be available, it is April Fool's Day!
2) April 5th - at 9am we will be doing a "deep" clean of the cabinets and floor. We need about 5 people.
3) April 12th - at 9am we will be doing our traditional "Mulch" day Garden cleanup. Our garden team, Town & Garden Country Club, will be there to guide our pitch forks! Click on the dump truck to sign up.
