This is one of my favorite days, "Youth Programs", as we get to meet and learn more about our scholarship winners. Some of our Interact club members from Liberty North HS are also stopping by to update us on their projects. We are having a Pizza Buffett so be sure and come.
We are also going to hear about what went on at District Conference from DGE Jodi and the crew from Liberty that attended. Although according to Mark and Frank at past DC, "what happens at District Conference stays at District Conference."
This Saturday is going to be busy at Rotary Plaza as the HDLI Farmer's Market will be open, "Art on the Side" will be open from 8am to 5pm, the "Quilt Walk" is scheduled, Juneteenth will be held, and the club is holding an "Art and Coffee at the Plaza" event to tie in with Art on the Side. Two of our members, Rocky and Dan, will be showing some of their art for sale with proceeds to go to the club's Youth Programs.
Our club "90th Anniversary Party & Officer Induction(District/Club) is in two weeks! Be sure and sign up to attend this event. It is important for members to support this event as our very own Jodi Sundaram is District Governor Elect!! Click the link below to register. Next week's meeting is Committee Day and we will be discussing the event in more detail but Anne Champ, event chair, says we need to have a "count" to the caterer by the 10th.
Rotary Plaza Update: 'Coffee / Art at the Plaza' happens this week at Rotary Plaza. Thanks Dan & Rocky for sharing their art to help raise money for our Youth Programs.
Rotary members will service coffee at Rotary Plaza from 9am until 11am during the HDLI Farmer's Market season. This event was created last summer by our fearless leader, Jennifer, but we need additional volunteers to staff the event. Click on the Coffee picture to Sign UP for your Saturday!
24th Shoe Caravan 2025: Liberty collected 482 Shoes, 130 Socks and $380 Cash.
Liberty Rotary Club members turned out to load shoe boxes from other clubs during the caravan.
Thanks Kimball for letting the District use VSI's facility as "Caravan Hub" again this year!
Community Service: Make Music Day June 21st will be here before you know it but we are prepared! Since it is on a Saturday it will start at 8am (same start time as Farmer's Market) and only last until 6pm. We have a full schedule of performers, some that we have heard in past years and some new acts. We will be looking for "Plaza Hosts" to be at the Plaza during the day. This is a very easy gig, all you have to do is welcome the performs and guests, offer them water, and tell them where the bathroom is. No heavy lifting required! Sign up now,--Click on the Rotary Plaza Picture>>>>>>
District Conference 2025 Kirksville:RC Liberty Rotarians Mac, Reed, Jodi, Jim, Ann, Pat, and Dan(you have to imagine him as he left before we could get a picture).
A goal of DG Erik's year was to raise $1,000,000 from D6040 for the Endowment fund. That goal was not reached.....instead they raised $2,181,842 & donations can be made until the end of June so who knows what the final amount will be! Thanks to all that made donations. Want to add to the fund -call DG Erik or Larry Lunsford.
Present and Future D6040 District Governors - Amy, Ruth, Jodi, and Erik.
