KITS FOR KIDS IS BACK -THIS PROJECT ENDS 7/31/2025Children living in poverty often go back to school without the basic items needed to help them manage proper hygiene.
When we asked kids, "what do you need for back-to-school," they said they wanted to "look good" and "smell good." That is why we work with local school districts and area churches to provide low-income families with pre-assembled hygiene kits at the start of each school year. And the items aren’t those tiny, hotel size products. They are full sized hygiene items.

How Our Club Can Help:
First, encourage Rotary members and friends to collect the items, placing them in one-gallon freezer bags (one of each item per bag for a total of six items in a bag). We will need an equal number of boy and girl bags. The clear freezer bags will help us identify which bags are for the boys and which are for the girls. We need a total of 600 kits. Here are the items the kids will need:
Third, you can help us distribute the bags. If you can help, let us know and we will let you know where and when, typically the first or second week of August. We already have confirmations from the Liberty School District and the Kearney School District.
The Club will take the completed bags to Love INC no later than Wednesday, July 30. You can bring the bags any Monday through Thursday between 10am and 3pm, or by appointment by calling (816) 994-6927.

- Toothpaste (2.5-5 oz)
- Toothbrushes (adult)
- Body Wash (12-18 oz, men’s and women’s) (avoid larger sizes)
- Shampoo (men’s and women’s) (you can substitute a “3-in-1” for a wash and a shampoo)
- Bar Soap (bath size)
- Deodorant (1.5-2.5 oz stick (men’s and women’s)
