The Battle Within: PTSD Awareness

Join Liberty Rotary Wed Sep 4 at noon at Liberty Hospital Treehouse for a presentation and group discussion on PTSD (posttraumatic stress syndrome) and Secondary Trauma, specifically relating to military veterans, first responders and medical personnel.  PTSD is a mental health condition which can develop after experiencing or witnessing a life-threatening event, like combat, a natural disaster, medical trauma, accident or sexual assault.  Anyone can develop PTSD at any age - with impacts and systems playing out in family members or coworkers.  The network of an impacted individual can cast a wide net of symptoms or impact and is often difficult to diagnose and address, with personal embarrassment or stigma possibly being involved.

This awareness discussion will roll back some of the known symptoms and effective treatment approaches, making it ok to accept and address in an open setting.  The Battle Within
