Alex Burden, Executive Director
Harry S. Truman Library Institute
Alex Burden is the Executive Director of the Harry S. Truman Library Institute – the Truman Presidential Library and Museum’s foundation and nonprofit partner. In this capacity, Alex provides strategic leadership for and management of the Institute’s educational programs, community programming, communications/marketing initiatives and fundraising efforts.
With more than 18 years’ experience working in Kansas City’s non-profit community, Alex has had the privilege of working with many of Kansas City’s finest institutions including the Kansas City Symphony, the University of Missouri-Kansas City and Bishop Miege High School. Alex has helped these and other organizations raise $53+ million.
Alex earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Medieval European History from the University of Kansas in 1991, and then completed his Master’s degree in 1998. Alex’s thesis, written on the life on an Irish saint, won a prestigious award from the University. Alex Burden lives with his wife and two daughters in Fairway, KS.
