Jim Thompson is Chairman/CEO of Stoney Creek Hospitality Corpora-tion which owns and operates a chain of hotel & conference centers in 4 states throughout the Midwest. The Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center of Independence will be the 14th location and offers 167 guest rooms and a 31,000 square foot conference facility. The Grand Opening festivities will also celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the company, which incorporated in 1994 and opened its first property in 1995.

Mr. Thompson's 45 year business career includes experience in banking, real estate development, commercial/residential construction, and hotel management and development. He is Chairman/CEO of Thompson Companies, a service and leasing company. Chairman of SC Development Corporation, an investment and development company. President of SCI Builders, Inc. a commercial construction con-tractor. And serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Des Moines Neighbor to Neighbor Foundation, supporting victims of violent crime; The "House of Mercy" providing support and shelter for disadvantaged women and children; and the Clarke University Board of Trustees.

He has three children, 8 grandchildren, and lives in Des Moines, Iowa.

Kevin McCarty is Senior Vice President of Development with Stoney Creek Hospitality, and Chief Operating Officer/Shareholder of SC Development Corporation. He has been with the company for 13 years and brings restaurant, construction, and leadership experience to the company. He is on the board of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Iowa, and participates in numerous fundraisers throughout the year. Mr. McCarty resides in Des Moines, Iowa.
