Last Tuesday's Speaker: Major Dean Towne

Independence Missouri is  Majors Dean and Pat Towne's fifth appointment as Salvation Army Corps officers.  The two  will retire in the spring of 2018 from Corps service.

Dean Towne was born and raised in Kalamazoo Michigan and after high school joined the United States Army, serving seven years.  He met his wife Pat in Kalamazoo and the two were married in 1983.  They have two children,  Jason a plumber in Alabama is married and has two children, and Christine who is single and works for The Salvation Army in Alexandria Virginia.  Dean and Pat have been Salvation Army officers for 18 years. They enjoy camping, reading, cooking, and their favorite — following ice hockey, particularly their familiar Detroit Red Wings.
