Outbound Exchange Student 2007/08 Chosen
Posted by Grace Fika
The morning and afternoon clubs have combined forces to ensure that Rotary Youth Exchange continues in Fort St. John. Robyn Kosugi will be our outbound student and we have no doubt she will represent us well.
Robyn Kosugi is in her final year of school at North Peace Secondary. She will be joining her classmates in graduating from the French immersion program that she has been enrolled since grade six.
She has lived in the Fort St John area for 11 years, Fort Nelson for 3 years and the very early years in Alberta.
Robyn has been fortunate to travel across Canada for 2 Canada-wide Science fairs, Encounters with Canada and various school band and French class trips. A highlight of travel was with Madame Plotnikow and Madame Bernard on a 3 week tour de France in 2005.
Robyn enjoys many outdoor activities in the Peace region including kayaking, snowboarding, fishing, hiking, horseback riding and photography.
She is looking forward to the adventure of the upcoming Rotary International Student Exchange Program as an opportunity to become fluent in a new language, discover different cultures and make many new friends. Robyn hopes to share some aspects of our great Canadian Culture and the hospitality and beauty of the North Peace. On her return, Robyn will be continuing her studies in Sciences at the university level.
