On Saturday December 8th, 2007 our annual Christmas Party for the kids was held at the Seniors Hall in Fort St John.  It all began at 9am when all hands were required on deck to get set up for the 80 children that were invited to attend.  There was lots to do with setting up of games and activity stations, setting up tables, blowing up balloons, getting non-perishable snacks set out and bagging popcorn.

The children began to arrive at 12:00pm and immediately started enjoying themselves at the activity tables and games that were in place.  Some of the games and activities that were provided are car racing, face painting, 5 pin bowling, necklace making, cookie decorating, assorted crafts stations and a baby play area.  There was pizza provided, juice, oranges, cookies and popcorn as well for everyone to eat.

Just before 2:00pm Santa's helpers got everyone into the mood and began singing carols and this must have been just what was needed to help Santa find all the kids that were eagerly awaiting his arrival.  Just after 2:00pm the jolly old fellow himself, Santa Claus made his appearance.  All the children were given presents and got their photo taken with Santa.  Upon leaving the kids were handed a goodie bag along with a bag of popcorn.  The mums received a poinsettia plant as well as a small bag of toiletries.  The fathers received a Tim Horton's gift pack.

Congratulations to Montana Currie for helping steer her committee of Lucie Brain, Laura Sanders and Ben Lippers to another successful Children's Christmas Party.  Special thanks must go out to the Fort St John Girl Guides who were Santa's helpers on the day.  Thank you to all Rotarians who were able to help out on the day and we look forward to making some more children's Christmas just that little bit more enjoyable next year.
