INBOUND EXCHANGE STUDENT:  We are hosting a boy from France this next year and he is arriving in August.  NO HOST PARENTS have volunteered to date.  Please contact Cathy Grindstaff for details.

DEMOTION:  The demotion is planned for June 29th in the evening.  WE WILL BE DARK THAT DAY AT LUNCH.  Location and costs to be announced.  It’s all a big secret!

 

RECOGNITIONS:

Hannah didn’t make it to the Seis de Mayo party and rumor has it she ditched her last few classes that day.  Her host dad, Chad Thompson didn’t know she ditched school and didn’t find out until that night at the party.  He paid $50 because he didn’t know his “daughter’s” whereabouts.

President Menoher thanked Bob Meissner for hosting a great Seis de Mayo party.

Annie Purcell has been challenged by the Prez to finish up her new member requirements in the next six weeks.  In fact, Brian Gibson is still working on those tasks and he is challenged to six weeks as well.

Milt Schultz paid $50 for an Easter trip to Baltimore to see his daughter and grandson.

Jim Murphy paid $25 for his son who is looking for a job!

Marge Beck was honored by Shasta County Public Health for her direction of the Ducky Derby.  She forgot to attend the awards ceremony and was in Hawaii the week before so she paid $100.

Don and Sharon Brooks went to the Caribbean, in six locations, so he paid $60.

COMMUNITY BUILDER:  This week’s Community Builder was Tamra Bennett, the French teacher at Shasta High School and Enterprise High School.  Marge Beck read a testimonial from former RER Exchange Student from France, Maddie, telling how influential Ms. Bennett was during Maddie’s stay in Redding.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH:  Emily Miranda, salutatorian and soccer player from Liberty Christian High School; Brooke Harrison, who participates in cheerleading, student council, E-Crew, CSF and the Key Club at Enterprise High and Chris Enton (sp), an honors and art student at EHS were the students of the month for April and May.

PAUL HARRIS:  Awards were presented to Les Melburg for his wife Gretchen’s third Paul Harris.  Larry Hopson and Mike Young, who received their Paul Harris plus 1 and Marge Remedios who finished an 8th Paul Harris in honor of Francis Remedios.

Kurt Mitchell won $368 in the 50/50 drawing.

The program was presented by Danika Swanson, a Stanford graduate who was a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar to India in 2008.
