Team 2 --

ANNOUNCEMENTS:  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE JULY BIRTHDAY FOLKS…Marge Beck, Bill Brown, Dave Ercolano, Brian Gibson, Steve Robertson and Jeff Vieira.

The Peters/Murphy Family Picnic is August 7th at the home of Jerry Peters.  Food, fun and family (Rotary Family too!).  Let Jerry Peters of Jim Murphy know if you plan on attending and how many in your party.

Craig Carrel needs about four people to help with back up for the back table.  PLEASE contact Craig if you are able to help.

IT’S ALMOST DUCKY DERBY TIME – Barb White will be giving each team leader tickets for all of us.  Turn in your money to your TEAM LEADER, not Barb, so they can keep track of sales.  The big day is SEPTEMBER 25TH.  Mark your calendars now.  It takes all of us to make this happen.

This week’s Community Builder is Lynn Bolen.  He is a social worker in Marilyn Wooley’s practice and has been a resident of Redding since 1984.  He was in the military and spent 23 months in Vietnam.  He has been married for 33 years and has two adult children.  He retired from Mental Health in 1998 and works with Marilyn with post traumatic stress syndrome patients.

Carla Barrett was inducted as the newest member and gave us an impromptu craft talk.  She is a native of Redding, has three kids and is the Career Center Director for Institute of Technology in Redding helping people find careers they really enjoy!

RECOGNITIONS:  Pat Beasley has been out of town and missed his first meeting as Team Leader.  For shame!  He tried to do the lawyer talk with Allyn, but it didn’t work!  He paid $10 per team member and another ten for not having a Community Builder.  That was $110 total.

Shannon Phillips was fined for some recognition in the newspaper about the McConnell Foundation having mules on the property.  Sounds like a great industrial tour idea!  She paid $50.

Yours Truly was a member of this year’s Dancing with the Stars cast and danced her little heart out on Saturday night in front of a lot of people. I paid $50 for this recognition.

The 50/50 chance was won by Tracey Cooper who didn’t pick the right worm.

The program for toady was the “Girls on the Run” group and Joanne Crosetti was the speaker.  A great program for young girls to help them build self esteem surrounded by caring adults while doing physical exercise.

The door prize was won by Annie Purcell.
