Disc Golf Update
A couple of years ago our executive decided to adopt a theme of promoting "Active Outdoor Family Activities" in developing community projects.
As part of this theme we have been working to develop a Disc Golf Course in Fort McMurray.
Actually, through the efforts of Gary Couet the project is much more than "a" disc golf course. The project know includes brining disc golf to ever school in Fort McMurray with grade 7 and 8 classes.
We have a major sponsor, thanks to the help of Rotarian Jason Reimer, for the school protion of the project so our funding is in place the schools asre seleceted and we are just waiting to bring itn the equipment. We hope that the schools will have Dsic golf as part of their Physical Education Cirriculum by the Spring.
We also hope that by the spring we will be able to get our hands dirty building the Disc Golf Course we have planned for the WooD Buffalo Estates are. We are waiting for the city to complete their neighborhood consultation and then once we get the final green light we will be starting our fundraising. We already have 50% of the funds set aside in our Casino Account.
